Story

Hello Everyone

My main aim is to raise everyone’s awareness and to get
as many
donations as I possibly can to support this
incredible organisation and the people associated with it
as the help
and support they offer is amazing
!

My whole life changed on the 26th December 2020 and hit me
like a train as it was
completely unexpected. I didn't have any signs
before
or thought I didn't until boxing day, Within minutes my personality changed and was acting “drunk” although completely sober. I went to my local hospital who suspected a stroke so was then blue lighted to Derby Hospital, had CT scan which shown a large brain tumour which was a shock to say the least to me and my family.

I remained in Derby Hospital for just under a week having
medication, MRI and started having my seizures/epilepsy
episodes.

After 4 days my return home was not easy as I was up to 7/8 seizures a day which I had to deal with and as this wasn’t “normal” for me made it so much more scary for both my family who was caring for me and myself!. This continued for over a month which I remember none of, after many medication changes I started to gain my memory back and reduce daily seizures.

Many visits to Nottingham hospital with specialist surgeon followed to look at my tumour in more detail. After being told the Tumour cant be fully removed just de-bulked and I would have an awake brain operation and biopsy to then more than likely have radio and chemotherapy to give me much time as possible. I will be told time frames after the biopsy but exact times are unknown as its down to how I take to treatments and tumour reacts etc as everyone is different!

As I type this we are just waiting for my operation date that I am currently on the priority list for just Covid is delaying the process hugely!

I could go in to MUCH more detail but my key goal here is to try and
make people aware that this can come completely out the blue so my advice is to
get yourself checked out ASAP if you have ANY symptoms and keep on top of the help from doctors etc, don't just ignore them !

This is the number one cancer killer of people under 40!

My other advice is as hard as it may be and it WILL be hard try to
stay positive because its taken me a while to get t
here myself mentally but I will try everything to remain positive because trust me it helps you !!!

I want to help other people going through this and their families
so everyone can support each other, so if you want support to do this please call or email Brain tumour charity as they are extremely helpful and know a lot more than us ! but also I can also talk with you or my family can.

Brain tumour charity work very closely to the
specialists I am with at Nottingham and many more hospitals, they have helped me
and my family ever since diagnosis and still continue to do so. So please help me and many others to support there needs and keep them going because they NEED to keep going to support the patients and families to go through this terrible experience and illness, so lets donate as much as we can or ideas and support to make the money they need please.

SO ! lets make this a positive and come together through this
difficult time and support the charity, more importantly each other !!
