Simplyhealth Great North Run 2019 · 8 September 2019 ·
My journey with Forest Hall YPC began when my son wanted to play football. I took him along to Soccer Nursery and found a warm welcome and a relaxed atmosphere away from the trials of other clubs.
I soon took on the role of coach for my son's team, dusting off the certificate I gained 14 years prior. I was hooked again.
Forest Hall YPC is not just a football club, the centre has a boxing club and is available for community use- there are big plans ahead to grow.
Unfortunately, the bills get bigger as the plans do. Rising costs of services means that our money doesn't go as far as it used to and raising subs is not an option because local kids are suffering the costs of cuts to services everyday.
I have taken part in lots of fundraisers over the years and The Great North Run is the biggest event in the North East. I am not a runner, my doctor tells me that "people like me are built for hitting people at short distances", it's hard to disagree.
Whilst I am not a runner, I am determined. I have been training hard to raise money for my club and I hope that you will support me in whatever way you can.
Thank you so much.
