London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·

The Stagehand charity originated in 1998 providing grants to Live show production workers in hardship due to illness and injury COVID-19 has devastated their livelihoods. We have provided them with 100’s of grants. They will be the last to return to work. With your help our work must continue

Story

I have run several full marathons since 2018 and have chosen to run for Stagehand  this time, while our industry has bounced back after being shutdown for the majority of 2020 and 2021, it’s important to acknowledge crew members will still require charitable aid.

Stagehand raised £1.8m during the pandemic in order to pay grants to those crew who fell through the gaps in Governmental help. They also introduced Mental Health First Aid to production crew, and have championed to make it the norm.

As the original live events industry welfare and benevolent fund, next year the charity is celebrating 25 years of helping those in need.

Production crews are the lifeblood of live entertainment, and so I’m undertaking this race for them, and to help ensure Stagehand can continue its vital efforts.
