Oxford Half Marathon · 14 October 2012 ·

EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

Well not long to go now! I'm running my first half marathon in Oxford on the 14th October, and have been training hard, 10 miles to do this Sunday!

I thought it would be a great idea to take this opportunity to raise money for a charity that helped me. It's over 3 years ago now but Headway were there when I needed support recovering from the brain injury I suffered from my mountain biking accident. I was incredible lucky to make a full recovery along with the help and support of my family and friends, Headway and NHS staff.

Please visit Headway here: https://www.headway.org.uk to learn more about brain injury and the work Headway do, and please sponsor me if you can. fingers crossed the training pays off and I get round ok!

Cheers

Phil

P.S. by the way that pic is off the Oxford half marathon website, I really dont think I will be anywhere near coming first and running through a finish line tape while punching my arm in the air Usain Bolt stylee ;-)
