STfL plants over 200 street trees in the London Borough of Lewisham yearly. We work closely with residents, schools and community groups to assist in sourcing local sponsorship and creating green corridors. We promote and nurture community interest and engagement in street trees in Lewisham.

Story

One of my oldest and dearest friends, Archie, lost his son, Freddy, in August 2021. Freddy tragically passed away in his sleep and my friend, his wife (Emily), and daughter (Ivy), have - in loving memory of Freddy - embarked on a mission to plant 100 Blossom Trees in their local area; the aim being to create a 5 mile circular route from their current home in Ladywell to Telegraph Hill - where they first lived.

This route was Freddy's stomping ground and he travelled it daily by foot, bike and bus. It also encompasses Fred's old schools, friends' houses and other places of significance in his life.

24 trees have been planted so far this season, with another 40 being planted later this year, but the target to create a 5 mile, 100 Blossom Tree, circular walk still needs support.

The trees cost £350 each to map out, plant and care for, so if you are able to donate an amount that pays for a leaf, twig, branch, trunk - or even a whole tree in Fred's memory, please do so through this page.

Street Trees for Living is a registered charity so all donations can claim 25% gift aid.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any donation you can make. Much love, Phil Amos, on behalf of Archie, Emily and Ivy xxxx
