Harry's story
Harry Park was a fun loving, 21 year old young man, with a great circle of friends and a thirst for life. He had begun his University studies in Liverpool, with his mate Matt Gleave, and was looking forward to enjoying University life. Unfortunately, Harry became poorly and began many rounds of treatment, mainly at The Christie Hospital.
Harry kept his positive attitude and fun nature throughout his treatment, supported and encouraged by his fantastic family, and all his friends he had built up over many years. Harry even carried on working at The David Lloyd gym in Warrington throughout his treatment, and even took part in a Fundraiser for The Christie Hospital with his friends from the gym, whilst undertaking treatment.
Throughout, the Christie Hospital staff went above and beyond to keep Harry as well as possible, whilst investigating any existing, or new treatment that might help Harry.
Unfortunately, this was all in vain as Harry died on 9th August 2018, aged 21 years.
Having met Harry, as a close friend of my son and his fantastic group of friends, I want to carry on Harrys legacy of support for The Christie Hospital, which is why I will be running the ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon in April 2019 for the Christie, with love from Harry and his family and friends.
Please can I ask for your support, your donations, however big or small for The Christie Hospital with love from a very special young man !
