Story

On 3 July I will recommence my cycle trip from land’s end to John O’Groats.  Last year I completed over 560 miles and raised almost £500 for the charity Headway.  This year I expect to complete over 500 miles again starting from Penrith going via , , Pitlochry, Aviemore, Lairg and Tongue.  I would like to repeat the fundraising success of last year and my chosen Help for Heros.

Late last year my cousin died suddenly at the age of 41, he had full if short life which included serving in the British Army in various locations including the Balkans.  He specialised in bomb disposal which followed him into his civilian career where he undertook and trained others in mine clearance throughout the world.  For each member of the armed services killed something like four are injured, Help for Heros supports those families left behind and the many more service people who cannot continue their duties or are effected by war.  Richard was near to his family when he died, but help for heroes was a charity close to his (very generous) heart.  It’s also not long since to armed forces day so please give generously.
