On June 18^th I will be commencing the Coast to Coast Walk – 192 miles over 12 days walking from St. Bees Head in Cumbria to Robin Hoods Bay in North Yorkshire. The walk was devised by Alfred Wainwright (fellwalker and author) and is one of Britain’s ultimate long distance footpaths.

Why am I doing this?

To raise awareness and funds for the British Tinnitus Association (BTA). I have had permanent bilateral tinnitus for over 10 years now and it has had a severe effect on my life. I have learnt how to live with it now but in the early days it was a real struggle. I would like to help other people who develop tinnitus and support the British Tinnitus Association in their aims to encourage prevention through education and seek effective treatment through medical research.

The Challenge

Keeping fit and healthy by walking in the glorious Oxfordshire countryside has certainly helped with my wellbeing which in turn helps with managing my tinnitus . In doing this challenge I am hoping to raise awareness of the BTA and raise funds for them so would you please support me?

The British Tinnitus Association is the only national charity specialising in tinnitus support. Their vision is a world where no one suffers from tinnitus. They receive no money directly from the government, so are 100% reliant on the generosity and support of members of the public and grant-making organisations to be able to support people with tinnitus across the UK. All of their work is paid for by the generosity of supporters like you.
