Story

Who I am -

My name is Phillip Davis. I am 26 years old and I have Autism (more specifically, Asperger Syndrome). I was diagnosed with Autism ever since I was a child. From my personal experience, I know the daily challenges that this brings and how difficult it can be to overcome these. I do find it hard to socially engage with other people and so from a personal point of view, I can understand how others who also feel like this. In spite of all of this, my diagnosis has provided me the capability to absorb information a lot more carefully and able to remember things pretty effectively. I can see situations in "Black and White" more commonly than some individuals, which allows me to think them through more rationally and logically.

Sports I like -

Ever since watching The Olympics at Rio 2016, it has inspired me to take up sport and keeping myself in a great state of fitness. On the last 6 months, I have been regularly using the gym (it is called Gym Group Kingsbury Road) and improving myself every day. Whenever I don't go to the gym, I enjoy swimming.

Why this charity -

I visited Autism West Midlands in February and I felt this is the ideal charity to represent in the Simplyhealth Great Birmingham 10k. As well as my interests in sports, I want to do my bit for the world and making a difference for those who have Autism. I will truly appreciate any donation, no matter how big or small, every bit helps.

Thank you for reading this page and supporting me!
