Climate Change Expedition at the Artic's Edge · 24 July 2012

Earthwatch Europe works to create a world where we live in balance with nature. We help people to protect the natural world around them by creating meaningful nature connections and giving people the tools they need to fight for our planet. We empower people to gather data and fight for change.

Story

Many thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am joining the Earthwatch Arctic's Edge Expedition from 23rd July 2012 to 3rd August 2012 at Churchhill, Canada staying at the Northern Studies Centre.

In this awesome landscape, I’ll study climate change by looking at its effects on Arctic wetlands and the frog, fish, and plant species that live in them. I’ll help scientists such as Dr. Peter Kershew from University of Alberta, study water quality, install “Frogloggers” to monitor the lifecycles of wood and boreal chorus frogs in the area, measure air temperature and relative humidity, and help count (and maybe live-trap-and-release) fish, frogs, and tadpoles for further study.

My parents will sponsor my transportation cost from London to Chucrchill but I will need to raise a minimum of £2100 for Earthwatch to qualify for the expedition.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate. Thank you again for your support.
