End to end - John O'Groats to Lands End · 16 June 2016

Retina UK is the only UK charity dedicated solely to working for people affected by inherited sight loss. We fund medical research to accelerate the search for treatments for the future, and provide information and support to help people lead better lives today.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Phil's son Robert is 24, and can no longer cycle independently because he has RP (retinitis pigmentosa) and is going blind.  Cycling the 950 miles from John O'Groats to Lands End, without any support, is going to be a massive challenge for both of us  but we will be motivated by the prospect of doing something to help raise funds for research towards finding a cure.

RP Fighting Blindness is the only national charity focussed purely on helping this group of people and is stimulating and supporting ground-breaking research.  Exciting progress is being made but there is lots still to do before Robert, and others like him, can have a realistic chance of stopping or reversing their sight loss.
