Virgin London Marathon 2015 · 26 April 2015 ·
I am an ambassador for a fantastic charity, HopeHIV (http://hopehiv.org/) and aim to raise as much money as I can for them by taking part in and organising various events in the next 12 months. So far the total is £,8,705.29!! This is amazing!. As a family, we visited a project supported by HopeHIV in South Africa and it was part of my inspiration. They work amongst the poorest of the poor all over Africa and do some truly amazing work. Please have a look at their website.
“HOPEHIV supports kids who have been given the toughest of tough starts. In communities ground down by poverty and AIDS, a generation of young people are growing up without parents to nurture and protect them. Yet many show extraordinary spirit, resilience and talent. We see that, given the opportunity, they have the potential to change Africa’s future from the bottom up”.
70 miles bike ride to Hayling Island done. Next up is the London Marathon in 12 days time!, Sunday 26 April 2015 and I am training hard, running four times a week (three short runs very early in the mornings and one long run on Saturdays).
The third event is a 10k mud run near Redhill, Surrey - 21st June 2015 www.back2thetrenches.co.uk You can do this too!!
My aim is to raise £10,000 through these three events, with your help I believe we can do it. I am not naturally fit or fast but I am determined to do what I can for HopeHIV. Please pass this is onto anyone else you know who might be interested to sign up with you. I would love you to join me on the mud run!!
If I can do these challenges, then anyone can. This might just be the kick-start to a getting fit, doing something you had secretly always wanted to do, It might be that you are looking for a challenge or a target to aim for, either fitness or doing something really worthwhile for a brilliant cause.
