Story

We’re a group of Parliament Hill Lido swimmers who plan to swim the channel together to raise money for The Alexa Trust. A channel relay is no easy task, but we’re keen to succeed this with smiles on our faces and as few jelly stings as possible!

I have always wanted to swim the channel from a young age, but never thought it would become a reality. So when I was approached in the first lockdown of 2020 by my friend to be part of this team of amazing people doing this amazing thing I couldn't say no!

We all know over the last few years how I love a challenge, be it a obstacle 10km with work colleagues or an exhausting stair climb up a skyscraper in London, or just running half marathons just for the fun of it. After breaking my leg running a few years ago I rediscovered my joy of swimming and it has become for many reasons, not least my mental health, a huge part of my life. I swam the "Swim Serpentine" the year I broke my leg to keep the challenges coming and this is the next level. I absolutely can't wait, although that's not to say I'm fearless...! I am slightly terrified, but I hope with your support I'll be able to face my fears and reach France with my inspiring team of incredible people I've had the pleasure to meet through my swimming community.
