Story
On 2nd October 2022, I will be running the London Marathon in aid of The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
Lung cancer remains the largest cancer killer in the UK, with more than one person dying from the disease every 15 minutes. This amounts to approximately 48, 000 lung cancer cases each year. Although smokers are more susceptible to developing the disease, it is so important to break the social stigma and common misconception that only smokers can develop lung cancer. In fact, around 15% of cases are in non-smokers.
The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation provides support for individuals from diagnosis, through treatment and end of life care. They also do an excellent job at raising awareness of the disease, conducting vital research, as well as challenging the common misconceptions associated with it.
I look forward to sharing regular updates of my journey and working towards achieving my fundraising goal of £2,200 for this worthy cause.
Any donation, big or small would be hugely appreciated. Thank you! Phoebe x
