Story
WE MADE IT - ALL THE WAY TO GREENWICH!
The boat is ready, the four lady-crew in training. Shortly after 9.30am on September 16th, we shall unfurl our flag and, river conditions permitting, launch our double sculling skiff from Ham House.
Then, some hours of rowing and 22 miles later, probably having developed many blisters en route, we shall reach the end of our course at Greenwich . This is the Great River Race, London's river marathon.
What a unique opportunity to see London from a small rowing boat!
I am doing this to raise money for The Mulberry Centre. As many of you reading this page will know, both my sister, Sarah, and my mother died from cancer and my father had battled the disease. This was one of the reasons that I became a trustee of The Mulberry Centre, a centre dedicated to supporting anyone affected by a diagnosis of cancer.
Please sponsor me and help me raise funds for this cause. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Mulberry Centre will receive your money faster and, if you are a taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Finally, I should like to thank The Lensbury Club at Teddington Lock for lending us the boat.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page – and thank you for your support.
