Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

people, 3 disciplines, one goal - to fundraise for Marie Curie.

We are an active bunch at Photonic Solutions and before Covid-19 put us into lockdown and enforced social distancing, we had planned to take part in a raft of charity fundraising events, from marathons to sportive cycling events. Sadly these have been cancelled and, with that, the opportunity to fundraise for our chosen charities. Charities rely on generous donations to ensure they can provide the support to those living through terminal illness. We are also all very conscious that we have lost the focus and incentive needed to keep training. Exercise is positive, not only for physical health, but also for mental well-being and whilst we are living through these uncertain times, remaining mentally positive is really important.

With all this in mind, during the month of May the Photonic Solutions team are taking on the challenge to virtually conquer as many Munros as possible to fundraise for Marie Curie. We will jump on our turbo-trainers, bikes and put on our running shoes, to cycle, run and walk as high as we can, all to raise money for Marie Curie. Over the next 4 weeks on our solitary local cycles and runs, the collective incline achieved will be calculated and presented in the numbers of Munros we virtually climb. We will start conquering each summit from sea level and climb to the official highest point. We will stay high and won’t be calculating the descent from the summits. This is virtual climbing, so we can do this😊.
