The NKF is a National charity that provides support and information to patients, families and healthcare professionals affected by kidney disease. Our aim is to improve the quality of life and support kidney patients and their families as well as lobby for renal improvements.

Story

Mum died on Saturday 21st January 2017 after a long and painful decline as a result of her polycystic kidney disease. Despite this, she lived a full and adventurous life, travelling to her beloved Italy often, planning trips to visit family and even revisiting her birthplace in India in recent years. She was one of the lucky ones. We are raising money to support the National Kidney Federation in their efforts to support patients locally and nationwide.

Mum received dialysis three times a week first in London for several years and then for the past 7 years in Ipswich, Suffolk. She developed excellent friendships with the other patients and their amazing staff in the renal unit at Ipswich Hospital. She got involved in the unit's events and activities and she wrote the minutes for the Ipswich and District Kidney Association meetings. The support that the NKF provide is essential for patients at every stage of their illness. We hope we can raise a sum that would help them continue their efforts and make Mum proud.

We would love family and friends to donate, even just a few quid, instead of buying flowers or cards.

Thank you!

The Griffiths Family.
