Story
The berry industry has been an important part of Blairgowrie’s history. Known as “Berry Toon” it kick-started Scotland’s soft fruit industry in the early 1900s. Since then, there have been many changes to the industry; from where the fruit is sold, to who picks them, to which fruits are grown. Despite all the changes the industry remains important to the town.
Why not get involved this summer to find out more about the history and raise money for charity. We’re organising a number of pick your own days. Whether you’ve picked berries before or you’re a newbie, it’s a great day out and you’ll get to take home a healthy, tasty treat!
All money raised will be donated to Macmillan. Macmillan have been a great support to our family over the years, particularly in helping care for my granny. The work that they do to help people in times of need with cancer is invaluable.
