Pier Pressure 2016 - Dudley Hospital Oncology Unit G4 · 12 August 2016

The Dudley Group NHS Charity makes a real difference to those being treated in our hospitals or in their own homes. We are not about providing healthcare; charitable donations enable us to give extra comfort, equipment and facilities above and beyond those which are supplied by the NHS.

Story

Cancer has unfortunately touched our family 3 times in the last 10 years. I lost my mom to ovarian cancer in 2006 and Ruth lost  her dad to throat cancer in 2010.

Then last year Ruth was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thanks to the fabulous staff at Dudley's Russells Hall hospital and the wonderful work  and support of the charities Breast Cancer Care and Cancer Research  Ruth's breast cancer has gone, her sanity is in tact (just) and she is on the way back to better health.

To help give something back to these wonderful instiutions we have cunjured up a brilliant challenge. Welcome to Pier Pressure 2016. We will be visiting 57 Victorian Promenade and Pleasure Piers around England, Scotland and Wales in 10 days. We will be doing this in 2 hand built beach buggies and covering nearly 2500 miles in total.

There is loads more detail at www.pierpressure2016.co.uk

We will be starting our Cruise Against Cancer on  Friday 12th August 2016 in Oldbury Town Centre, West Midlands, and  returning back there on Tuesday 23rd August after circumnavigating the  British coastline in a clockwise direction.

We would like any donations made to the Dudley Group NHS charity from Pier Pressure to go directly to the Georgina Ward C4 where Ruth had her chemotheraphy treatment and was looked after so brilliantly by wonderful staff.

Therefore could we please ask that you choose which ever charity means the most to you. However  we would also really like to share out

any donations equally to all the charities if possible.

Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them  with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send
your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 25%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.
