Pigs on Bikes Sponsored 65 Mile Cycle Run · 1 June 2009

As Scotland’s foremost provider of care for veterans and their spouses, Erskine offer unrivalled nursing, residential, respite and dementia care in four homes throughout Scotland for UK veterans. Erskine must raise in excess of £10M in voluntary income annually to ensure we maintain this standard.

Story

Pigs on Bikes are a group of police officers who, as the name suggests, are into cycling. Formed in 2000 they got on their bikes and since then have cycled several hundred miles and have raised several thousand pounds for a number of charities.

After a 'rest' for a couple of years the group have re-formed and on Saturday 5 September 2009 will set off from Edinburgh City Centre and cycle along the towpaths of the Union Canal to Falkirk and thereafter via the Forth & Clyde Canal to Glasgow City Centre.

Some of the group are members of the Courts Branch in Glasgow while others are from North Lanarkshire Division.

Those taking part are.........Iain Ross, David Callander, Alan Thompson, Dougie Thomson, Gillian Anderson, Allan Cuthbert, Derek Graham, Derek White, Gus MacKinnon, Alistair Carson, Dougie McFadzean, John Houlihan, Gillian Monroe and Dougie Wotherspoon. We are also joined by Alistair Munro  from Advance Security at Glasgow High Court.

This year we are pleased to be able to support the excellent work carried out by Erskine on behalf of ex-Service men and women. Any donation is gratefully appreciated

Thank you
