Story
As part of NCS (National Citizen Service) the members of Pink Lemonaid are fundraising for the charity Young Minds whose aim is to improve the emotional wellbeing and mental health of children and young people. They are an invaluable resource providing expert knowledge to professionals, parents, and young people through their Parents' Helpline, online resources, training and development, outreach work, and publications. They campaign to improve policies and practice regarding adolescent mental health and create a network of support for vulnerable young people, making sure they get the help and advice they need.
The money that we raise will go towards Young Mind’s Parents' Helpline which is a great resource for parents and other adults to get help and advice about how best to support their child. It is run by trained advisors who can give immediate guidance and can also be used to set up consultations with adolescent mental health professionals to create more detailed support plans. The helpline can be reached at 0808 802 5544.
One of the ways we are trying to raise money is by running a Tea Party. This will take place on Saturday 10th September, 11am to 4pm, at Turvey Village Hall. There will be a variety of drinks, cakes, and activities - including a raffle and face painting for children – and the opportunity to find out more about Young Minds and the invaluable work they do. All proceeds will go to Young Minds. To find out more contact us at pinklemonaidncs@gmail.com or visit our event page on Facebook at www.facebook.com/Pink-Lemonaids-Tea-Party-650044401809774/
