Story
Hi, I'm Jen. My Boob Crew (my sister Beth, mum Bev and aunty Angela) and I are going to walk 10 miles in the Derbyshire countryside around Chatsworth House to raise money for Breast Cancer Now.
In July 2025 I was diagnosed with stage 2a breast cancer, aged 40. Under an excellent team at North Hampshire Hospitals NHS Trust I have had surgery, chemotherapy and will finish treatment with radiotherapy in March. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have found the lump early enough for this treatment to be considered curative.
In the UK 1 in 7 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Around 55,000 women and 400 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year in the UK.
Breast Cancer Now is a fantastic charity which offers help and support for people with breast cancer in the UK, including a comprehensive website and the ability to contact a nurse with questions and for advice. They also contribute to breast cancer research to help improve the lives of those with the disease and hopefully reduce the number of people affected by it.
My wonderful family have been an amazing support to me throughout my treatment and I am honoured that my sister, mum and aunty are going to join me on this walk. Please consider sponsoring our team and help us raise some money for this cause close to our hearts.
