Story
As many of you will know, I am recovering from Breast Cancer. I was diagnosed In May 2025 - I have endured 4 months of (weekly) Chemotherapy - ( I received two blood transfusions, one half way through, one a week after Chemo finished ) - surgery In October - Radiotherapy In December. The active treatment has been a success and I will continue with targeted Immunotherapy ( every three weeks ) til August 2026.
I am 47 years old ( 46 when diagnosed ) - It has all been shocking and a total whirlwind, one of the hardest things I have ever had to deal with..my life has been flipped.
The treatment and care I have received from the NHS and the charities, which support breast cancer patients, has been outstanding.
After finishing active treatment, I know first hand, how important and absolutely imperative the support, the various cancer charities offer Is.
I want to give something back with a donation of any money I can raise. When I came across this event, I just thought - I want to, and I can do that. So here I am 😊😢🙃
The treatment I have received, has ravaged my body, but saved my life.
I am In the process of building myself back up.
I will do my best to complete this challenge, a 20 mile walk.
Sadly this will not be easy for me now, the impact the treatment has had on my body Is huge, but I am determined and I’m sure I’ll succeed.
I'm taking part in the Pink Ribbon Walk to help Breast Cancer Now fund their world-class research and life-changing care for anyone affected by breast cancer.
