Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Update 24/9/2022
8 days to go and we enjoyed our last longish run of 8 miles. Looking forward to a week of rest & carbs in preparation for our next little Sunday run. Thank you to everyone who has supported us since this journey started in 2019. Whether you've donated, attended one of our events, bought a raffle ticket or just put up with our never ending running chat, it really means so much to us and Whizz-Kidz. Now we cannot wait to complete the final 26.2 miles on 2nd October. xx

Update 4/7/2022 90 days to go and so the serious training resumes! Roll on 2nd October when we can enjoy, hopefully, the coolest London Marathon!

Update: Unfortunately our original event scheduled for 26th April 2020 was cancelled due to the pandemic. On 4th October 2020 we ran/walked our wettest marathon when we completed the Virtual London Marathon ( yes it was still 26.2 miles) around the streets of Medway. We opted to take part in the April 2022 event but this has now been postponed until 2nd October 2022 so our journey continues......

We started running together at parkrun in 2015 and from there somehow ended up completing a marathon for charity to celebrate a personal milestone. However, we then thought we could do more for charity and were lucky to join a group, The Green Milers, already running the 2018 London Marathon for Whizz-Kidz. We trained well and learnt that most things can be discussed and resolved on a steady chatty run (#SCR). We also learned that we are both very similar, even turning up in the same outfits without prior discussion, which has led to us being recognised locally as the running twins!! We developed local training routes and ran in all weathers including snow! Typically, despite our preparations, the temperature on the day was the hottest ever. We adapted accordingly and still loved every second but it was not the run we trained for. Therefore we want to complete our unfinished business and run the London Marathon again, for Whizz-Kidz, only quicker!!!

We both appreciate how lucky we are that we can run and during our 2018 marathon journey realised the difference we can make fundraising for Whizz-Kidz. We're inspired by the work that Whizz-Kidz do in enabling disabled children and young people to lead fun, active and independent lives. Whizz-Kidz provides vital mobility equipment, opportunities to meet and have fun, and training to help gain skills for a brighter future.

We would love you to sponsor us by giving whatever you can. All donations will be quickly passed to Whizz-Kidz for them to start putting your money to work straight away. Your kind donations will help transform the lives of disabled children and young people across the UK, supporting them to become confident and independent young adults.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity. The more people that know about Whizz-Kidz, the greater the impact will be in helping more young disabled children become independent and the money you give will quite literally open up a world of opportunity for these young people. Please spread the word by sharing our page with your friends and family. Thankyou in advance for your support and generosity, it means a great deal! Heather & Jenny xx
