Story
On Saturday 13 July, Helen and Leanne will undertake the Action Challenge 50km in the Peak District, celebrating Helen's 50th birthday and to raise money for the Donor Family Network.
Just over 12 months ago, we lost a very dear friend - Jon O'Neil. On 9 April 2018, Jon was rushed to hospital having collapsed from a brain haemorrhage. Jon had already signed up to the Donor Register and knowing what his wishes were, Beth and family had no hesitation in agreeing to him being a donor. Four people have benefited from his organ donation, including a 23 year old with a new and special heart. Whilst it was an incredibly difficult time, it felt positive for them that Jon was going on to do something else. Beth and the boys are keen to raise awareness of both organ donation itself and the Donor Family Network, who have supported them this past year.
You can show your support by signing up to be a donor, if you haven't already done so. From next year being a donor is changing - you will need to opt out from being a donor.
We are raising money for the Donor Family Network to support their mission to become the leading donor family charity in the transplant community, by providing awareness of organ donation and through the highest quality support for every donor family. Please show your support in either way, if you can.
In memory of Jon O'Neil
Thank you very much
