Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those who have not seen the Facebook post I have copied it here for you to read
“As a team and a work family we like to pride ourselves on helping and supporting each other. Sadly in December 2017 Kirsty from our preschool room got some unexpected bad news about her partner Dan who was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) after visiting the doctor with a sore leg. He is undergoing treatment for this which will involve chemotherapy and surgery to overcome this unfortunate circumstance as you can understand this has been a very difficult time and will be a long time of recovery. To show our love and support to Kirsty and her partner Dan as well as raise awareness of the importance of seeing the doctor if something doesn't feel right we would like to undergo a fundraising event to raise money and awareness for bone cancer. We would like to involve all our children and families as much as possible in helping us show how we can come together as a whole and raise money for the Teenage and Young Adult Unit which helps so many people throughout their treatment. We have come up with the idea of a sponsored scavenger hunt where the children will be given objects to find at home and round the local community and there will be a prize for the best and most creative scavenger. As this will partake outside of nursery we would also like to do a yellow day at nursery on Tuesday 6th February. Please let us know your thoughts and ideas about this event so we can begin organising this and have it up and running by Monday next week. Thank you so much in advance.
The Pinocchio's Family 💛“
Hi everyone,
Firstly I’d like just start by saying wow to the amazing response we have had on our Facebook page with so many lovely comments being left of support! After so many people being so generous and looking to donate online I thought I would set up this page for people to show their love to Kirsty and Dan and donate to the Teenage Cancer trust! Kirsty works to her absolute full daily and since this sad news in December she has still come to work with a smile on her face and has been so strong throughout what has happened. What Kirsty and Dan have had to face as a couple is something no 21 year olds should have to go through. As well as raise money I hope this raises awareness of the severity of going to the doctors and getting things checked when something doesn’t feel right no matter how small it may seem.
This is a chance for our Pinocchios family to come together and show our support to Kirsty and Dan and all other families that this may effect!!
Thank You so much in advance, let’s kick cancers butt!!
