Skydive for Katie

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2019, my friends lost their beautiful daughter Katie to a
rare cancer. She was just 17. So, with their permission I am doing this in Katie’s memory and I asked them which charity they would like to support. Straight away they said “Milly’s Smiles”.
This is Katie's story in her parent's words;
On the 13th September 2019 our amazing 17 year old daughter Katie lost her two year battle with a rare form of cancer. We miss her so much, but take heart that during her battle, she never once let the hardship she endured get her down and always met challenges no girl of her age should ever have to go through, head on, with unbelievable determination and courage.
Katie was diagnosed, late September 2017, with Undifferentiated Neuroendocrine Carcinoma, a rare form of cancer that manifested itself in her liver, pancreas, lungs and spinal column. Her world was turned upside down, meaning she has had to endure surgery, multiple and significant doses of chemotherapy, fevers and many extended stays in Manchester Children's Hospital and the Christie.
Milly’s Smiles does an amazing job of providing a Milly Bag to every family whose child has been admitted to Manchester, Alder Hey and Leeds Children’s Hospitals with a new cancer diagnosis. They help them through those first few weeks of their unexpected hospital stay, when families are bewildered and facing a long spell in hospital with their child. They aim to do the same for every family in England.
