Story
Greater Together Manchester coordinates the Greater Manchester Winter Night Shelter.
The Greater Manchester Winter Night Shelter is a rolling night shelter (using a different church each night of the week). They offer shelter and hospitality to 12 male rough sleepers each night. These are due to open on 1st November.
They take referrals via The Booth Centre - Attend their drop-in service to check if there is a space and to apply for a referral. The address and opening times are:
Location: The Booth Centre, Edward Holt House, Pimblett Street, Manchester, M3 1FU - Map
Booth Centre Opening Times: Winter night shelter is suitable for men only who must be over 18 and homeless. The night shelter is open 6:30pm to 8:30am.
The cost is £27 per person, per night and the service is on 7 nights a week. They aim to open for 5/6 months - with 12 beds each night which tends to work out at between 150/180 nights. They estimate it’ll cost approx. £50,000 per year to run the service and they’re looking at the possibility of expanding our city centre provision so this will likely increase.
