Story
To say a thank you in the best way I can think of (one that means something not simply standing in the street banging saucepans of clapping) for the excellent work and world leading research carried out by Cambridge Eye Trust I am running a half marathon. They recently saved the sight in my left eye - well them and the diligent ophthalmologist at Specsavers Rushden who first diagnosed the issue.
Yes I am doing this for my own selfish reasons - staying fit at 60 - but I might as well do some good for someone else whilst I potentially bask in the glory of running (jog/walking) 13 and a bit miles non-stop through the highways, byways and industrial estates of Northampton on the 25th September 2022.
I anticipate just beating the sweeping up van (under 3 hours) but my current times are slower than an Nonagenarian trying to navigate their way around the one way system at IKEA carrying a very heavy bag of shopping - so if you would like to show your support for Cambridge Eye Trust you can sponsor me via Just Giving.com.
