‘Play on the Pitch’ is returning for a 6th time on Thursday 16 May at Roots Hall. The football match was started in 2014 by Barclays Bank and Southend Business professionals to raise funds for Havens Hospices. Since the event started we have raised over £100k for Havens Hospices.
It is a huge year for Havens Hospices as they are well underway with building their new adult hospice which will cost £17.5 million to build and they are currently down to the final £900k that they have to raise. Havens Hospices is made up of Little Havens children’s hospice,
Fair Havens Adult Hospice and The J’s hospice in Witham. Currently they have to raise £7 million per year to keep the hospices open and they receive very little government funding. Any donations that can be given to this fantastic cause would be greatly appreciated and will make a real difference to this fantastic charity.
