As Healthcare Play Specialists and play assistants we support all children and young people whilst in hospital. We provide a provision of play and recreation in the healthcare setting. As healthcare professionals we advocate for patients, providing support during invasive procedures or during long term admissions. Play has a special role in the hospital, by providing play we can help patients achieve goals and minimise the effects of hospitalisation.

To carry out our role effectively we require appropriate resources such as toys, arts and craft materials, specialised sensory equipment etc. We are also privileged to have external organisations visit the wards and use their skills such as music and magic.
