We fundraise to enchance patient care and wellbeing across County Durham and Darlington. As the official charity for County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, we use funds to buy medical equipment and supplies, support training and education and much more. The charity works to enhance patient care and experience across eight main hospital sites, in community settings and in our patients' homes. With your help, we can make a real difference.

The Maternity Unit at UHND delivers excellent patient-focused care and suppport for the women who access maternity care within our local community. As a unit, we want to develop our low risk area, we want to offer women a range of birthing aids such as mats, stools and birthing balls. We have a beautiful pool room and would love to enhance this further with a 'starry sky' like our sister trust have at Darlington Memorial Hospital. Any extra funds we raise will go towards furnishing rooms further for birthing partners comfort. 

We have taken our fundraising inspiration from Darlington Memorial Hospital who successfully fundraised and their pool room looks amazing!!

Our challenge is to complete 1407km this is the distance from Lands End to John O'Groats. Our challenge is based on km distance pledges from our maternity staff in both acute, community and infinity settings. Each member that signs up will pledge a distance to cover during the month of May 2021.
