At Plockton Residence we decided to get fitter and healthier after Christmas and New Year so we set ourselves a challenge of cycling on static bikes the distances from our homes to the hostel and back home again. As we come from all over Scotland this is a grand total of 1744 miles....... don't worry, we have the staff on it too! As we live too far away to travel on a daily basis we stay at Residence in order to attend Plockton High School and the National Centre of Excellence in Traditional Music .
Not only is this a good way to get fit when the weather isn't so good outside but whilst cycling we thought it was also a good way to raise funds for a charity. Highland Hospice is the charity we chose after it was nominated by a few of us. Highland Hospice is special to one young person in particular because of a past experience of losing a family member and the amazing support given by the Hospice to the family.
