Story

Plug in Adventures is all set to become the FIRST team ever to tackle the Mongol Rally in a 100% pure electric car. On Sunday 16th July, we set off from Goodwood Racing Circuit and will drive 10,000miles across Europe, Kazakhstan and parts of Mongolia and Siberia in a 30kw Nissan LEAF, driving between 80-100miles per charge depending upon the terrain. We are not talking a "plug in hybrid" or "petrol range extended electric car", the car only has a battery, so there will be no petrol or diesel used at all.

As part of our adventure while stopping to charge the car, we will be taking the opportunity to engage with the local communities and promote electric vehicles, charging technology, benefits to the public and also the planet. We will also be taking time out to stop at WWF projects and sustainable technology sites along the route, taking the time learn about some of the amazing work that is being done to reverse the effects that climate change is having on our planet and wildlife.

While in Kazakhstan we will be attending the 'Future Energy Expo' in the capital city of Astana, where we will be taking the opportunity to meet with Government Officials to promote electric vehicle and charging technology.  We will also be offering any advice that we can as the country has shown a commitment to invest in low carbon transport moving forward.

WWF is at the heart of global efforts to address the world’s most important environmental challenges: safeguarding the natural world, tackling climate change and enabling people to use only their fair share of natural resources. Together we can build a future where people and nature thrive. Your support is much appreciated. Find out more by visiting wwf.org.uk

We are so proud to be working alongside and supporting WWF as our partner charity for this zero emission adventure, as their passion and commitment to our planet is 100% aligned with our own.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all in advance for your support, we really appreciate it.
