MILES FOR MUMS & BABIES · 1 October 2021

Action on Postpartum Psychosis supports women and families affected by Postpartum Psychosis (PP) across the UK. We provide information and peer support, facilitate research into PP, raise awareness of this rare yet severe postnatal mental illness and campaign for improved services.

Story

We are an exciting new service starting across Ayrshire and Arran to work with mums who are affected by severe mental illness in the perinatal period.

As a team we are all extremely passionate about raising awareness around Postpartum Psychosis (PP). We want to get more people talking about PP and being more aware of this illness.

As a team we are really proud to be raising money for Action on Postpartum Psychosis. We strongly support their campaign for Mother and Baby units, so mums who are affected by PP can receive the support they need.

Each year 1400 mums experience PP in the UK every year. So as a small team of 8 we have decided to walk 1400 miles in the month of October. One mile for every mum.
