It was very hard seeing my father's health deteriorate; however, nurses from Sue Ryder gave Dad (and Mom) fantastic care towards the end. From moving jobs, to marriage and becoming a father, Dad was my sounding board, my confidant, for almost everything. We both shared a love for sport, especially cricket, and my Dad and I would often run together. In one of our last conversations, he mentioned how he would like me to start running again. I count myself lucky to have been given this opportunity and, on top of raising funds for Sue Ryder, I will be running the 2017 London Marathon in memory of my Dad.
