Simon aka @PoliticalTrims provided me and many many others with some light hearted humour and good craic across social media, focussed on the bizarre subject of male political haircuts.

He managed to transcend political lines and just make people smile, which was particularly important during these dark and unprecedented times.

Most endearingly, he dedicated as much time talking to random council candidates like myself as he did with high-profile politicians and MPs. 

Simon sadly passed away on 13th May 2020.

I did not know Simon personally, but our time communicating on social media has brought me joy and laughter. This interaction genuinely helped my mental health during this difficult time, so I would like to do something to help others.

Part of the @PoliticalTrims social game was the rather persistent encouragement that I should shave my head and embrace the Max Wilkinson look. In his memory I'm going to do exactly that.
