Dan's Fund For Burns is a registered adult burns charity, set up after the terror attack in Bali in October 2002. The fund aims to help burn survivors through practical, financial and emotional support. The charity also supports NHS burn centres and units across the UK with equipment and training.

Story

On the 12th October 2014 it will be the 12th Anniversary of the Bali bombing in which Dan, Annika and my other friends so sadly lost their lives.  I was lucky enough to survive the bombing and despite suffering severe burns have been able to rebuild my life.  I have been wanting to challenge myself for a few years but surgery and then children have derailed my plans but with the Royal Half Parks falling on the 12th October I felt it was meant to be....

My main issues for running the race will be not the fitness angle but the injury angle - I have a rotated pelvis (childbirth!), twisted left side (burns) and stiff ankle (broken falling off bike!) - so am having to nurture my training with physio!

I am however determined to get round even if it is crawling on my hands and knees so please dig deep and support Dan's Fund For Burns (the charity I set up 11 years ago and which has been supporting Adult burns survivors in the UK ever since) and help me keep the memory of Dan, Annika, Tina, Clive, Jake, Stevie, Sweetie (Peter), Ed and Tom alive.

Always loved... Never forgotten.  R.I.P.

Thanks so much in advance,

Polly
