RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

There are 234 lifeboat stations around the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland making sure that we are safe whilst we are on the beach, in the water or roaming the cliff tops.

This service receives no UK government funding and less than 2% of the RNLI’s total funding comes from government sources. Which seems crazy when individual crew member annual training cost is £1266 and A ‘D’ class inshore lifeboat costs £39,000, a ‘B’ class Atlantic 85 inshore lifeboat costs £180,000 and a Tamar class all-weather lifeboat cost is £2.7M.

For this reason, mother and I have chosen the RNLI as our family charity for this year and will be partaking in a series of events to raise money.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated - xxx
