Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On 16th April we are embarking on a canoe & kayak trip along the River Thames from Oxford to Windsor in an effort to try and raise some funds for the ANTS team East of England.
The ANTS team are an ambulance service specifically for neonatal units, who transfer very sick and premature babies often to receive life saving support. There are only 3 ambulances that cover the whole of the East of England and have a team of Doctors, Nurses, Administrative Staff and Drivers that work tirelessly day and night.
Funding for the Team comes from the public and any money received can make a difference.
After one of my sister's twin girls passed away, the ANTS team transferred the surviving twin Daisy to Addenbrookes to receive specialist care. She also used them a further 5 times transferring her to Brompton for her heart surgery and back and forth between hospitals.
The trip is over 3 days and 2 nights and roughly 103km in distance. Whilst ensuring we are within the government's guidelines, we will be paddling 8am to 5-6pm for 3 solid days in an effort to make it to Windsor.
This is in appreciation of the dedication and hard work that the ANTS team do on a daily basis as well as in memory of Poppy.
Thanks again.
