Lets raise lots and lots of money for this very worthwhile cause. If you have any doubts, google the survival rate for Pancreatic cancer ;-( it doesn't make for pleasant reading x
My friend was an absolutely lovely person, I am sure everyone says that about people who have passed away, but in her case it was true. She was thoughtful, creative, had a wicked sense of humour, loved Gin and Red Wine...not necesarily in that order, or in the same glass!
She was an avid gardner, loved going to the Tatton Flower Show and if she was your friend, she was a friend for life. She was truly loved by everyone who knew her.
In September 2012 my friend went home from work ill with what she thought was just a stomach ache, possibly caused by taking too many pain killers for a tooth ache. She never came back to work.
In November 2012 she passed away peacefully in the company of her close family. She had Pancreatic Cancer and died within 3 weeks of Diagnosis.
This disease is known as the silent killer, symptoms are very reminiscent of several other , less fatal illnesses and so very often they go undetected until the latter stages of the ilness. Sadly the detection of this disease needs to be in the very early stages.
Of all patients diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer only 3% will live for a further five years, and 1% will die within 12 months, like my beautiful friend.
We need to boost the profile of this disease, do more research and improve these horrendous statistics.
So please sponsor me, pass my link on to anyone and everyone you know, and any amount, small or large is very, very welcome.
This money will not bring my friend back, nor will it help me 'feel better' about what happened to her. This money will help future sufferers, and maybe their family and friends wont have to go through the heartache of watching a loved one die.
