Port of Tyne Lockdown Challenge · 22 April 2020

NHS Charities Together and its members across the UK are hugely grateful for the support received from so many since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Story

There’s no question that these are tough times and at the Port of Tyne we really wanted to do something whilst we’re in ‘lockdown’ to help us all stay positive, stay connected, stay healthy and to support our amazing NHS staff on the front line.

So, we’ve set up the Lockdown Challenge for the entire Port of Tyne family to ‘virtually travel' from Newcastle upon Tyne to Newcastle in Australia – a grand total of 10,437 miles!

How the Port of Tyne Lockdown Challenge works

We're clocking up miles towards our target when we're out for our daily exercise or just by doing laps of our gardens!

Our Board, all our staff and our families / children are taking part so we're walking, cycling, running, toddling, scooting, skipping, rowing – or anything else that will help us to tick off those miles.

We'll keep track of our progress on our way 'down under' and share some photos and stories along the way.

Thank you for your support!

The whole Port of Tyne family.
