This year I will be joining a couple of friends in doing the Alzheimer’s memory walk.

I will be doing this walk mainly for my Nana who sadly passed away a few years ago now to Dementia. I supported my Nana for many years through her diagnosis and caring for her along with my mum and dad. It was hard at times, I cannot lie about that, but reliving old memories with her were always a joy.

Dementia is the UKs biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and currently there is no cure. We know it is scary but we must confront the biggest health & social care challenge of our time. We owe it to the 900,000 people across the UK currently living with dementia to campaign for change, whilst providing vital day-to-day support. By taking part and raising money, or donating to someone who is, you are helping to do this.
