At around midday on 6th June 2009 we successfully reached the summit of Pen Pumlumon Fawr in Wales. From our starting point on the mountain the peak could not be seen, due to thickening cloud levels, so keeping an eye on our progresson the maps were essential. Half way up the mountain the weather deteriorated, with strong wind and heavy rain, which of course got worse the higher we climbed. Visibiltiy was virtually none in the thick cloud but we knew from the map that we were approaching the top, and sure enough after an hour and a half, we were there! Thank you to all those who have supported us so far - through sponsorship, cake sales, raffle prize donations, our clay pigeon shoot and karaoke events, and rowing in more bad weather at the dragon boat race! We are narrowing the difference between our funds raised for WaterAid and our target, but we still need your help, so please sponsor us! WaterAid is a charity that we really believe in. It works internationally with some of the world's poorest people to provide what we often take for granted - safe water and sanitation. The charity works in communities with local people to implement low cost technologies and deliver lasting solutions.
