Please join us on Saturday, October 24, 2020, to come together virtually and do something healthy and fun for a great cause that helps fund research for a cure for epilepsy.  

Many of you know that our son Jack has epilepsy; a fact that we discovered when he was just nine months old and had his first seizure.  Four brain surgeries later, we recently found out that we are out of surgical options, and are relying on future advancements in the treatment of epilepsy to allow Jack--and others like him who suffer from epilepsy--to live a seizure-free life. 

We are fortunate that, milestone after milestone, Jack continues to beat the odds.  Others are not so fortunate, and everyone with epilepsy deserves a chance.  We hope that you can join us to help give them that chance.

The event is called "PowerUp for CURE" and here's it how it works:

1.   Consider donating to CURE through the "Donate" link on this page. Any amount helps, and given 1 in 26 people will develop epilepsy in their lifetime, we suggest $26.  Every dollar donated goes to Citizens United for the Research of Epilepsy (CURE), a leading organization for epilepsy treatment research.  The first 40 people to sign up will get a t-shirt with the PowerUp logo (just send us your size).

2.  Then, on Saturday, October 24, grab your family and/or friends--in a socially distant manner where needed of course--and do an outdoor ride/run/walk at your favorite local recreation spot.  Jack's favorite activity is cycling, and we will be doing our family ride at 9:26AM, Central Time.  The distance is up to you, but consider 1.26 miles or some multiple of that, in acknowledgment of the 1 in 26 people who have or will develop epilepsy in their lifetime.

3.  Send us a photo of you and your group during your run/walk/ride  and we will post it here along with others celebrating all of our efforts to help raise money for epilepsy research and treatment! You can also post it to your social media accounts with the hashtag #powerupforcure.
