Story
Last year I was able to raise £2,085 for PAPYRUS using the "Birthday Fundraising Platform" on Facebook, in memory of two fantastic friends who were taken from us all too early, Tris Liley and Mike Langton.
Nevertheless, I can't help feeling like I can do more for this charity...
In an attempt to lug our post-lockdown(s)/post-euros barrels around for 21 kilometres on a wintry October day in Manchester, myself, Cam MacDougall, Dan Booth, Joe Thompson, Kyle Bennett, Mark Kilpatrick, and Tom Hebden, will be participating in the Manchester Half Marathon - a big deal for a bunch of amateurs.
The main aim here is to raise awareness for PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide, a magnificent charity that is extremely close to our hearts. The least we can ask you for, is to share the fundraiser and raise awareness. This could be by sharing on social media or just by spreading the word the traditional way. If you would be so generous, a small monetary contribution would also go a long way for this charity. Every £5 raised can help pay for a life-saving contact to PAPYRUS's helpline - HOPELINEUK. Your money is, quite literally, lifesaving.
Please feel free to come to Manchester on Sunday 10th October to either cheer us on or laugh at us, or both! Hopefully see you at the finish line, beer-in-hand.
