As some of you may know, I'm not the most active and fit person there is. I've never really been into sports, and spend most of my time on my computer!

Last March, I got myself a mountain bike to cycle to work (my commute has a very gravelly off-road section that a road bike would struggle a lot with). My first week was hell. I had to push the bike up all the hills, and it took me around 50 minutes to commute each way (I now do it in 30 minutes!)

I saw this event advertised last year, but was no way near fit enough for it. But I said to myself... "Next Year". Now it's "Next Year", and here I am.

I'll be undergoing a lot of training to get my fit enough - my longest ride to date was 33 miles and around 2,000ft climbing. This will certainly be a challenge for me.

I plan to complete the ride with my friend, Paul Watson. Our team name - "Pixel Pushers".
