Walking to the IOM Challenge 2021! · 11 January 2021

There are over 10,000 carers living in the Isle of Man, and due to the Coronavirus pandemic many are facing a bigger challenge than ever before. We are determined to be there for them to help ease the pressure of caring throughout this time.

Story

Crossroads Manx Workshop for the Disabled, helps people with disabilities realise their full potential whilst providing them with paid employment. The Workshop offers a valuable therapeutic service to a number of individuals with health conditions and disabilities living on the Island and strives to empower individuals through training and skills building. The Workshop was founded in 1983 and has been doing brilliant work for nearly 40 years! For more information and to keep up to date with Crossroads Manx Workshop, please visit www.crossroadsiom.org

To help support Crossroads Manx Workshop, PPL and Gemserv have teamed up to take on the Walking to the Isle of Man Challenge 2021! Both teams will be logging the distance they have walked each day in January to collectively reach 288 miles which is the distance from the PPL office to the IOM. Lets see if we can double the distance and walk back to the office!

Whatever people are able to / keen to raise in sponsorship will be matched by PPL from their social impact fund for this year (so for example, if someone completes 30 miles and raise £30, we will double that to £60). And that includes any additional miles once we've got to the Isle of Man (apparently there is a beautiful coastal walk!).

Stay tuned on our social media platforms to see if we can reach our target!
