The Retreat Animal Rescue is entirely voluntary and rescues farmed, domestic and wild animals. All donations go directly to the welfare of the animals in its care and to those needing help in the future. Thank you for helping them to help abused, sick, injured and unwanted animals.

Story

I’m running the Windsor Half Marathon to raise funds for the Retreat Animal Rescue sanctuary.

It’s a blissful, loving home for animals who have had a hard time. Many of them were saved from the horrors of the meat industry.

The animals include ex-race horses, cows, pigs and sheep saved from slaughter, worn-out battery hens, injured birds, and dogs who have failed behaviour tests in other dog homes.

Animals are given the time, care and love they need to recover before being rehomed. If a suitable home cannot be found, they simply stay at The Retreat for the rest of their lives, bathed in love.

I visited the sanctuary earlier this year. It was one of the best days of my life.

The Retreat is entirely voluntary. All donations go directly to the welfare of the animals.
