James was three days old and close to death when he was rescued by HorseWorld. An orphan, he had been abandoned by his owners and left to die without access to his mother's milk or veterinary care.
Contributions to HorseWorld's Annual Appeal - the Prince Appeal - will be used to help pay for the rescue and initial care of baby James, estimated at in excess of £2,000 to date, and to help the charity to rescue other neglected and mistreated horses, ponies and donkeys.
Every animal deserves a life that is free from pain and neglect. The Prince Appeal was set up when a severely neglected mare called Princess was rescued by HorseWorld. Her foal, Prince was born a few months later but sadly Princess never recovered from her neglect. The Prince Appeal was set up as a tribute to this gentle mare, to help other horses and ponies - particularly mares and their foals - have the quality of life they deserve.
